SUPERBRAND

Participation in Superbrands is by invitation only, and offered to the most outstanding brands in their field. Attaining Superbrands status strengthens a brands position, adds prestige and reassures consumers and suppliers that they are buying the best brand in its category.

WHAT IS A SUPERBRAND?

"A Superbrand offers consumers significant emotional and/or physical advantages over it's competitors which (consciously or sub-consciously) consumers want, recognise, and are willing to pay a premium for."

SUPERBRAND ORGANISATION

Superbrands is the world's largest independent arbiter of branding. Superbrands pays tribute to the strongest and most valuable brands in the world through its publications and national marketing programs.

Superbrands is a Global Organisation which promotes the discipline of branding. Superbrands has launched programmes in more than 90 countries including all the key global markets. We have worked with approximately 17,000 major brands through 400 separate publications.

"Superbrands Status" strengthens a brand's position, adds prestige and sets the brand apart from its competitors. Only brands which have been highly rated by the 'Superbrands Council' and through other research are granted "Superbrands Status" and invited to join the Superbrands programmes.

The "Superbrands Council" comprises experts and luminaries from the world of branding, advertising, marketing, design, product management, public relations and business.

SUPERBRAND SEAL AND CERTIFICATE

Qualified and participating brands will receive the "Superbrands Award Seal" which can be used to symbolise their "Superbrands Status" on their advertising and marketing materials, website, packaging, etc. Research by Nielsen, Synovate, TNS and other international research companies have found that consumers are much more likely to purchase products or services displaying the "Superbrands Award Seal".

Nielsen conducted research on the impact of the "Superbrands Award Seal" across 48 countries and found that 74% of consumers who recognised the Superbrands name claimed to be more likely or much more likely to buy the products or services associated with the "Superbrands Award Logo". The "Superbrands Award Seal" provides brands with a significant competitive advantage.

ASIA PACIFIC BRANDS FOUNDATION
Founded in 2005, the Asia Pacific Brand Foundation (APBF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to developing brands in a myriad of business backdrops. Led by its Patron, H.E. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysia's fourth Prime Minister together with a Board of Governors who are experienced captains of industries and brand icons.

Brands are catalysts of growth and organisations musts realise the significance of brands and branding if they want to be successful and achieve market leadership position. Consumers must also be educated and informed of the qualities of good brands and best branding practices. This is where the APBF steps in to make a difference and assist brands to achieve their maximum potential.

With aspirations to encourage awareness of branding in Malaysia and across the world, the APBF takes an active role in identifying and nurturing outstanding Malaysian brands to an international platform. The foundation continually goes on the mission to educate and communicate the value of branding, with the concept that brand culture combined with good practices will give Malaysia the edge amongst the world's advanced nations.

Starting off on a modest note with publication of branding articles in the media, APBF evolved into an association that organised branding seminars and forums to discuss issues and latest developments in branding. The organisation's commitment in encouraging the performance of businesses through branding saw the launch of the Tun Dr Mahathir-The BrandLaureate Lecture Series, with the aim of furthering the objectives of APBF.

After its establishment, the APBF has embarked on many initiatives through The BrandLaureate to support its brand mission. Among the significant events initiated include The BrandLaureate Awards for multinationals (MNC's), Public Listed Companies (PLC's), Trans-National Corporations (TNCs), Governement Linked Corporations (GLC's) and Large Corporations (LC's). With the success of the awards, the APBF then launched The BrandLaureate - SMEs BestBrands Awards to honour the small and medium enterprises in the country.

A visionary organisation, APBF aims to continue to take branding into a new dimension through passion and commitment.

ENTERPRISE 50 AWARD by SME Corp. MALAYSIA

The Enterprise 50 (E50) is a prestigious award programme that recognizes the achievements of Malaysia's enterprising small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which are well positioned for the future. A total of 50 winners are selected based on their financial capabilities, operations and management competencies, among the nominations received.

Enterprise 50 is an annual award programme organised by the SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp. Malaysia) and Deloitte Malaysia, with supporting sponsorship by RHB Bank Berhad and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) to celebrate and highlight the achievements of enterprising small and medium companies that are well positioned for the future.

The Award programme, which started in 1996, marks its 19th year in existence this year with support from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

Each year, 50 winners are selected from amongst the nominations received and the evaluation is based on key financial and non-financial factors. To date, a total of 1,798 companies participated and 550 companies have come out as winners. From this pool of winners, 46 have been listed on the Malaysian Bourse and 14 on ACE Market (formerly known as MESDAQ).

Winners will get to enjoy publicity in both the print and electronic media. They will be featured in the Business Times’ special E50 supplement, Media Prima, Malaysia SME Newspaper and the E50 website
